The scorpion and the Sage
One morning, after he had finished his meditation, the old
man opened his eyes and saw a scorpion floating helplessly
in the water.
As the scorpion was washed closer to the tree, the old man
quickly stretched himself out on one of the long roots that
branched out into the river and reached out to rescue the
drowning creature.
As soon as he touched it, the scorpion stung him.
Instinctively the man withdrew his hand. A minute later,
after he had regained his balance, he stretched himself out
again on the roots to save the scorpion.
This time the scorpion stung him so badly with its poisonous
tail that his hand became swollen and bloody and his face
contorted with pain.
At that moment, a passerby saw the old man stretched out
on the roots struggling with the scorpion and shouted: "Hey,
stupid old man, what's wrong with you? Only a fool would
risk his life for the sake of an ugly, evil creature. Don't you
know you could kill yourself trying to save that ungrateful
scorpion?"
The old man turned his head. Looking into the stranger's eyes
he said calmly, "My friend, just because it is the scorpion's
nature to sting, that does not change my nature to save."

Just want to share this wonderfull story.

DURU,

Your story shows that this so called old man was very unwise!
Had he finished to save all the people, that he chose to save the scorpion?
Give thanks to nature because he was given his reward for his stupid idea...his reward was the venom from that scorpion...hahaha!

I have never heard of Jesus trying to save the scorpions or other creatures, but I heard that He saved many people!

Let me say your story ain't a good one!

True that..

Greetings ras kanjas, d point of d story is ,its d ignorance of d scorpion to not know dat d man is saving d scorpions life but since man has d ability to overstand d nature of d scorpion, and its ignorance of not knowing mans intention to save its life,d sage is not bothered and simply proceed to its natural way of living ,and saving life no matter what creature or being,is part of d natural way of living.

This story is not to be overstood literally,d message of d story is to overstand d nature of man towards others, for man is not separate from others.

This sage attitude is to be applied in many situations ,not just toward a scorpion.

Yes I ,I heard and read lots of story about jesus but
I dnt follow no jesus person but christ livity , natural livity.
In fact jesus saved no one , its demself dat overstood d message of christ ,dat saved demself from illusion and separation.

D savior is always iself not someone from d sky or heaven.

First love and respects,

Honest question for the I.

Does the I mean that we save ourselves from our own sin? When we sin against Jah? Yesuah message was that he was our savior to save us from death and fiyah that we deserved for our sins and give us everlasting life thru him.

Greetings soerasta, yes I ,from I n I own sin, a sin is anything dat is against peace, love and unity in general is sin, a sin is part of life , InI simply must learn from it , most cases InI depend on a external inspiration such as a messiah, but in fact it is iself dat is responsible for choosing who is d messiah or savior
D message of d messiahs, yashua,buddha,H.I.M, krishna. etc......
Is dat d divinity is not at them but as a symbol or a way for InI to realize d divinty on iself ,so InI is responsible for InI sins and its InI is responsible to learn from it.
Christ story for I is not a person , christ represent natural livity ,symbol of man function as life wholistic, free from ideas and dogmas ,simply living life with full of love.
its important to know dat I n I is life and not its function , I n I is eternal ,and not through somebody so as yahsua, perhaps yahshua and all other messiahs are only reminding I n I ,dat I is life itself and not its appearance, d many appearance is still one life ,appearance are temporary but life is eternal.

A messiah is not d savior but a reminder dat Iself is I own savior of I own sins, through living one with creation fully ,and not with ideas but by action.

Ras Kanjas, I agree with the I on that. It would have been more fruitful for him to spend his efforts elsewhere. It is better to plant seed on fruitful ground.

true that Ark I,

Better to plant on fruitful ground than to waste both efforts and seeds on ground that yields nothing except sorrow.

He wasted his efforts! He could have done better than that!

Raspect..
