I suppose Marleys life did sort of resemble Jesus' life.

They were both born of poor parents
Not much is know of their boyhood
They were both, obviously, chosen by God
They were both full of unending love for God
They both prophesied their own deaths
They both taught unity and one love between and for all men, white or black
They both help us to reach the divine
Jesus was murdered......According to plan
Bob died naturally......According to God's will.

Thats just tiny points i summarise.

Isn't that this strange stuff from the "catch a fire" book? I don't know coz I ve never read it, but it sounds like that. You should know whom ya praying to and know thyself.

I agree with Empress Yaa, oh dear.

Greetings Bob and Yesus - "oh dear" as the I them say, I can't even begin to say in how many ways that comparison is flawed. Not much is published of Marely's boyhood but don't assume its unknown and the other connections of a deep love for God n such - If you were called by HIS name would You not love your Father? How many people have not forseen their own deaths? Aya any of those comparisons could be made of Yesus and any other person. And crucifixion and cancer are hardly the same. Prophet and Son of Man (depending on Ras order y'follow) - I see another huge distinction right there...Can we speak of Sellasie I and Yesus if we wish to make real comparisons.

In case you are thinking my post was a response to yours, it wasnt.
I just hadnt read the previous posts before and in reading back , well, i just thought Empress Yaa Asantewa`s expression perfectly described what i felt.

respect

i had a feeling it would not even be considered ----but that is ok ---the way i see the jesus story and who he was was and what he did sure sounds an awful lot like who marley was.

and since marley's childhood is not revealed in much detail then we can say not much is known of his childhood ---and in reality the chance of us knowing his childhood should be great seeing as he lived in our times.

the powers to be killed jesus ------ stress has been linked to a weakened immune system which can make one more susceptible to cancers ---so it may be that the stress of the powers to be that bob was fighting against ----may have killed him.

messenjah you missed another important comparison;
----both have become greater in death than during their lives.

if one think selassie i is a good comparison i would like to hear ------ and honestly why can't more that one person be similar?

would any wish to compare mandela to moses?

peace
