Reggae is not dead.
Fire for the fanaticals and fundamentalists in Rastafari, from Bobo Shanty to all the other houses, that is fanaticalism that I myself not even ashame to say I was caught up in as a Bobo.
Reggae is very much alive, in fact has ressurected back to life recently, more so in Virgin Islands with such artists as Midnite, Nyorah, Ras Attitude, Dezarie, etc. keeping the music cultural, righeous and spiritual , with no slackness at all, and the tempo consistent with the heart beat ( 60-80 bpm).
In Jamaica, it may be almost dead, but Lutan Fyah for I is the most conscious artist right now, and when you check his lyrics it is very deep and influenced by Vaughn Benjamin's ( lead signer of Midnite) lyrical content. Also JahMason keepin the music clean also.
Big Up and Raspect for Midnite, keepin the Roots and Culture alive and even forwarding it into time and progress. I favourite of them all, serious consciousness.
LOVE TO THE I ROOK FARI, LONG TIME NO HEAR FROM THE I BOBO, Negus is the WayMaker,my lord, One Day Jah make a way in glory.....
