Reggae is not dead.

Fire for the fanaticals and fundamentalists in Rastafari, from Bobo Shanty to all the other houses, that is fanaticalism that I myself not even ashame to say I was caught up in as a Bobo.

Reggae is very much alive, in fact has ressurected back to life recently, more so in Virgin Islands with such artists as Midnite, Nyorah, Ras Attitude, Dezarie, etc. keeping the music cultural, righeous and spiritual , with no slackness at all, and the tempo consistent with the heart beat ( 60-80 bpm).

In Jamaica, it may be almost dead, but Lutan Fyah for I is the most conscious artist right now, and when you check his lyrics it is very deep and influenced by Vaughn Benjamin's ( lead signer of Midnite) lyrical content. Also JahMason keepin the music clean also.

Big Up and Raspect for Midnite, keepin the Roots and Culture alive and even forwarding it into time and progress. I favourite of them all, serious consciousness.

LOVE TO THE I ROOK FARI, LONG TIME NO HEAR FROM THE I BOBO, Negus is the WayMaker,my lord, One Day Jah make a way in glory.....

IYAH ADONIE I GOD JAH RASTAFARI!!!!

What about Misty in Roots? They are not a new band, but almost all their songs are about praising JAH, I have yet to hear a slack tune from Misty in Roots. I do agree that nyabinghi is more powerful than reggae, and cannot take its place.

Dancehall Babylon by Misty in Roots

The heathens say Don't praise Jah in their dens
All they want is sex and vanity
The heathens say Don't praise Jah in their dens
All they want is sex and vanity

You give them evil remedy
That's all you want them see
And I know you give them nudity, violence and sodomy
In dancehall Babylon, in dancehall Babylon

I tell you,

[chorus]

So give them immorality
It's all they want you see

Aphrodite and that girl Venus
Look how they worship them
All glorified and exalted for their stagecraft
In dancehall Babylon, in dancehall Babylon
In the dancehall Babylon, down there in dancehall Babylon

I tell you,
Heathens say Don't praise Jah in their dens
All they want is sex and vanity
Heathens say Don't flex like you and me
All they want is sex and vanity

That's why they vex with me
I don't have their morality, O Lord

Ises be to Haile Selassie I JAH RASTAFARI

To separate yourself from Reggae is not a bad thing. There is a reason why many Bobo and other RasTafarI don't deal with Reggae. None of those things, from reggae, television or anything else has a place for One who is trodding in the Priestical Order, they are just distractions to the Work that they are to do. All of us, including Iself, are not trodding the Priestical Order in fullness while dealing with any of the distractions of the world.

When I say Priestical Order, what I mean is the trod of a RasTafarI Monk. I don't normally use the word monk, but that is the closest comparison to what I mean by a Priestical Order.

This doesn't mean that Ones who listen to reggae, watch television or other things are not RasTafarI. There are many different types of work that RasTafarI People do, from business, teaching, healing, spreading Jah word through music, speech or writing, to chanting Fire, to trodding as a Priest, to all the other Work. Most RasTafarI perform all those types of Work with some to more and others to lesser degree depending on there trod. And some have most or all of their concentration on one or a few particular types of Work.

All this is necessary for I and I, because I and I are a Oneness that must contain all that is needed.

bless deh mi idren and sistren!

i was reading this thread and got taken aback for a bit there. ark i, what exactly do these 'monks' do, are they, like, supposed to do similar stuff that catholic priests and.. well.. monks do ie abstain from s.e.x. etc?

To choose to abstain from sex is to work against life, as sex is how we reproduce ourself. That catholic celibicy thing is wickedness.

I and I like what the I said Ark I. It is true each of Jah people have different works to do so that Jah people can do all the works of Jah. I and I also sight that none of these works are greater or lesser than another in Jah eyes, as they are all Jah works. Some do more than other, some do less, but all is Jah works being done. Everything has a reason in it's due season.

see Natural Black hailing from Guyana but trodding over in JA for music productions opportunity. Very good. A next royal prince in Zion. I love him. Also Chezidek. I also like Lutan Fyah.

yes the Priestical order asks to abstain from iditational contaminations as can occur with over-exposure to worldian frequency. no problem though, I heard a little radio play on the hill when three drums rest the beat. creating InI own filter for good use when trodding the world is good practice. a little exposure is good for the immune system. ark I made a good reasoning for IandI about this in recent months. but i must say I totally cut out dancehall vibrations... like meat. i have nothing to do with it. i don't even know about this daggering dance ting. I would rather listen to rhianna than dancehall reggae. it is judgement music... and thankfully the borders between it and culture music remain quite distinct, despite Mr.Capleton's best efforts.

I like the point, Rook, where thee I say dancehall goes in cycles always going back to nothing.

Selah.

p.s. Ras I-Tom... roflmao.... it is "wickedness"!!!! AaaaarrrgHAHAHAHAHAHA! too funny. Kingman are toooo funny! Who was it the other day saying that being a Kingman is like being a farmer, dashing seed about the earth...? THAT had me in stitches! Some of thee I them are too wild. Don't start InI about all a that! Yes thee I them are farmers... tend ONE farm and keep it clean! ;)

p.p.s I sight catholic priest do not practice abstinence or celibacy, I sight it is bare oppressive / repressed perversity ah gwarn in their dens.

Rootz,

I just used the word monk as something outside of RasTafarI that is closest in comparison. So I will refer to them as Ones of the Priestical Order.

Celibacy has nothing to do with it. I am talking about people who Livicate their Life to RasTafarI Iritual Works. So when they are not sleeping, eating, cooking or doing other necessary physical works in the camp, they are praying, chanting, Iditating and doing the various Iritual Works.

Greetings,
Blessed love.

Empress Yaa, blessed love. I and I do not really overstand what the I found so funny about what I said. Can the I explain?

I and I think I may have gone a bit far by saying it is wicked. As I and I have been thinking about it and there must be many righteous men who have never reproduced themselves.
I and I sight that if a man cannot have children then that is Jah will not his. But I and I sight the natural order of things is man wombman and child; and so when a man's or wombman's will is to go against this natural order and not reproduce themselves it seems wrong to I, as this is working against life, instead of procreating it.

Is it wicked though? I remember a definition of wickedness made by Ark I which was building too much or destroying too much; going outside of the balance to work against life. Does choosing to abstain from reproducing one's self fall into this?

As for what the I said about the farmer spreading his seed. I and I agree that it is best to tend to one farm, because a lot of the time if a farmer tends two farms he may treat one farm better than the other, rather than equally.
