Well, I agree to disagree with the I Ras Kebre Ab.

I will not retract my statement about fundamentalists within the order. Cos I know there are.

Nuff people within the order, haven't reached the ites and are still rising, and don't listen to reggae just cos they heard another one say so and just follow or adopt the opinion or principle.

Iman didn't listen to reggae music for 1 year when I came here in Babylon from Africa. It was good, yet it wasn't good also. Because it was an imbalance.

Jah say spiritual must balance with physical, you cannot be overmaterialistic and neglect the spiritual just like you cannot be overspiritual and neglect the material.

Reggae music is STATICAL MUSIC and Nyabinghi is CHURCHICAL MUSIC. In Ethiopian (I mean all African not just Abyssinian) Culture, from Anciency, THE CHURCH AND THE STATE IS ONE.

Balance. That is the Ites.

Respect to the Elders who have iverstanding, and choose not to listen to reggae to preserve and discipline their meditation, and still don't dis, curse, or condemn conscious, true reggae as they see it has a purpose and is part of Jah works, yet they as Iman also, do not mix up, tolerate or support dancehall.

One Priest in US, elder, who come from JA and even cook food for Emmanuel, tell I that since Sizzla and Capleton, or reggae in general, nuff people people a flock to the hill to take up the Turban livity seriously, and such people till this day are still strong BoBo.

Nuff people in Africa have learnt Truth and Rights from Reggae music, Iman will testify to that.

Tena yestelign i idren Fari

Well, i dont really sight much disagreement but anyway, i want to give thanks for this statement
"Nuff people within the order, haven't reached the ites and are still rising, and don't listen to reggae just cos they heard another one say so and just follow or adopt the opinion or principle."

That is the main point of the thing and that is where all the folly comes in
When idren who have reached that ites where they have no need for wordly music say Reggae is dead, those who hear it will usually have one of two reactions to it.
One they will bow to it without any real overstanding just because they think that is the thing to say....or
two, they will have an adverse reaction to it and make statements that dismiss those idren as fanatics and fundamentalists.

Some still do not overs that Rasta is not about rules and regulations but a trod according to the iditation of ones heart.
As the i so well put it, there are those who have overstanding and choose not to listen to reggae
As i said earlier, that is the iditation of i heart. I work to reach to a heights where i can put away reggae music
But once i reach there i would never go around telling others not to listen to reggae. I cannot forget all the good that reggae has done for i when i was but a child of Rastafari, but there shall come a time to grow and put aside childish things, and that process has started already.
I cant remember who it was i was reasoning with once, but as i said then, If you use a ladder to climb up higher, you dont pull up the ladder behind you, you must leave it there so others can climb up as well.

Give thanks Fari

I know what the i say, HIS Majesty speak about the balance of the iritical and material...............but according to how you put it, i wonder....is there such a thing as being "overspiritual"?
As a person who has spent time with people who have forsaken EVERYTHING of the material, i am not so sure

Greetings Bredren...

I'm like... where's Empress Ten?! It is somewhat edgy to be the only Daughter in this reasoning. The reasoning vibes is getting all masculine. I almost feel not to add this, but I think it would only be a daughter that might think of this to say, so I'm gonna say it... to Rook;

I think the parcel of reasoning being built around the post is telling InI that spiritual and material is one thing. A One's blood flow is not seperate from the irits of One. One leads to the other and vice versa, true? We are in flesh and spirit, just like His & Her Majesty, Emmanuel, Marcus. The thing with us is that the I in I wishes to harness I, which is necessary to maintain and steer the vessel, the body (Goody) or the rudder (referring to the recent reasoning about InI being rudders on the waves - Haile Selassie I gotta be captain, else we all dead - reggae or not). The body is the wealth (material). The meditation is the spiritual.

Of course there can not be such a thing as over spiritual. I think fundamentalism is about being under-spiritual and so rampantly posing like you're over spiritual. Think empty barrels and noisiness. I think zealousness is just a part of some Ights' journey, like a growth spurt, or growing pains (we've all been over zealous when we get the first rememberance of love and dedication to the Father... all running forward to stoop at the Golden Throne, trying to get ready fast fast... teehee :). So, the difference is just a difference in expression between the two Iemples. Trust I, thee I them are in full agreement in essence. RasTafari live (3 loving spirits that never disagree - Prophet, Priest and King - different ways of saying the same thing).

Ok, forward to Rook. Speaking of spiritual - material balance (key to oneness), if InI overstand our material being as spiritual... then we have to know (KNOW) that material things are spiritual in some way. I mean this as in, material things have spiritual effects. Always and without exception. Nyabinghi drumming is material... yet the iritical effect is it's value and is through the roof. The sound of the drum beat is much larger than the instrument... just as the effect is unquantifiable in material terms. Once the vibration is created between drum and drummer, it has left the material world and is existing around InI as a spiritual vibration. (In fact, I have a reasoning about this... which I hope to have time to post in a bit).

We are learners in this world, we are learning about the creation... everytime. There is a creator who knows all things. Here we are trying to learn them. How little we know. The wicked man gathers his learnings, studying them again every generation, his sons' sons' sons and daughters' daughters' daughters... aiming to know everything to play at being God. Granted they know more in fact than InI in this time... which was after all the aim of the game. Yet it is what we do know (the little that we do know) that they don't know that will be snare along their path.

Do you know how to quantify the spiritual effect of dancehall material? What is the size of the iritical effect of seeing and hearing InI sexuality portrayed and emphasised as "daggering"? Where is the time and place for these riddims? If youths should be protected from it's influence, why should not I? Am I not a youth? And a daughter of Empress Menen I Selassie I?

Ok... I hear what is also being gotten at... these creations maintain the endorsement of heterosexual sexual relations, it doesn't promote homosexuality (doesn't it?), or general bow-cat behaviour (?). Neither does it do much for the emotional dynamic between man and womban. I don't think we, as a nation, and beyond, are really checking out the increase in dysfunctionality in what is supposed to be our family units. The Highliest of Raspect, honour and regard between King & Queen is supposed to be taken for granted in the African household. Yet distrust, disrespect, gender competitiveness, disengagement, and dislocation are the order the day and the reason why daughters lose themselves watching Oprah Winfrey.

What I'm saying, Rook, is that this yah spiritual trod is just that. Trodding spirit in the flesh. Once you remove the boundary, a One must starting counting up, adding up, subtracting and general calculating in spirit. If we are allowed so many vibrational calories per day... too many dancehall ones (no matter how a One tries to justify it) is just negative equity. Straight. No amount of reasoning is gonna shift it and nobody else can carry the weight.

I wonder if that all made sense. I hope I get time in a bit to make the Drumming reasoning. I went to watch Baaba Maal (Senegal), Oliver Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), and a mixed band with a Kenyan front man yesterday evening. Well, mi family... if we wanna talk about MUSIC!!!!!!!! Mi RaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaSSSSTAFARI!!!!!!!! Shall we talk about musicians? And drummers? And instruments of 10 strings?! And what about voice?!! Hey! The drummer in Baaba Maal's band...!!!! My GOSH!

Well, put it this way... I have a reasoning about drumming... talking drums, like Marcus. The three drums that play for Daniel No.1? What is a drum? They say the Arc of Covenant if a drum. Who is the drummer??? When a drum is being played, what is the difference between the drum and the drummer? Who is talking? The drummer to the drum? Or the drum to the drummer?!! Ai! Ok... I'll be forward later to expand on the ights!!

Love thee I all!!

Blessed Love... Momma Menen I Selassie I... JAH RasTafari!

Blessed

Dahna Dahna. Igziabiher Yimasgan

That is what I mean Honourable. I don't think that it is necessary to work to reach a level where one doesn't need reggae music anymore in life.
That is what I mean.
From when I change from straight Ras to Bobo, I did put away reggae. Until I listened to Jah (I Self) and HE show I that there is no need to shun it and regard as something that is inferior or unspritual that need to b pout away

Love
