I don't think Geez Che was trying to spread confusion. Here's the deal. The term Babylon is used in different ways. Geez is citing the most literal being the capital city of Babylonia, from ancient Mesopotamia. It was Babylon vs the Israelites why it is mentioned in the bible. If you read the book of Daniel it tells the story of how he hand others were taken into captivity in Babylon because it was a conquering empire like that of Rome. Kemet did some of this too but Kemet was more defensive than offensive. But it was the captivity part that people remember. Now, in the story of Daniel, remember he was fed to the lions but they didn't eat him. And so the king converted and said that Daniel's God would be his God. The story for Joseph isn't that much different because rulers were impressed by what they considered magic and so the priest/prophet/whatever could influence kings. But like the Joseph story eventually there comes a new ruler who doesn't know Joseph or who doesn't know Daniel. Their ideas and beliefs become that of the state. And so when you have the Hebrews who didn't bend the knee to the statue of Nebuchadnezzar it was basically like saying they weren't going to give their allegiance to his empire and bow to his rule. However the bible presents this in a religious context as if the statue was an idol and so it was a religious protest. But ever since then Babylon has been an iconic symbol of an empire based on greed/unrighteousness. It's typically oppressive and likely to hold people as captives. So it shouldn't be taken literally but spiritually. Zion is spiritual and so is Babylon. So anyone can inherit the same spirit. Any government can also inherit the same spirit as a previous government.
