Assassination is just "enhanced" protesting. If you had millions like him, something might get done. As someone who is neither black nor a cop, I don't have strong feelings about it, I just look at it and think wow, that was poorly directed and ineffective. The net amount of pain and hate probably increased rather than decreased.

For it to be 'ineffective' you are assuming you know his purpose... He may have simply wanted to lay down a few officers of the law and make the news before leaving earth. In which case mission complete. Sometime net pain has to increase before a state of peace... No peace before justice sometime the bitter is a healing etc.
