What does the old testament say about life after the physical body?

I dont recall much if any mention of afterlife in the OT. It does speak about going be with the forefathers. The torah speaks of their reward or blessings on earth before going to be with the forefathers.

With the bible things can be tricky because of scribing changes to fit the current doctrines and also modern translators and their doctrines.
