What is the I's view of Snoop Dogg becoming Rastafari, personally I support the Rastafari Millennium Council in saying that he's a fraud exploiting Rasta as an excuse to play reggae music and smoke weed, that is not what rasta is about, seen I?

I like Snoop's music. Though to be honest his release as Snoop Lion wasn't my favorite but I gotta give him credit for trying something new. I was petty skeptical about his conversion when I first heard about it; but GA is right, he's introduced Ras culture and ideals to people who might not normally ever be exposed to it. Regardless of his intent, he isn't hurting anyone and as a Black man he has every right to explore Rastafari as he feels. It's not up to me to decide who is or isn't Rasta; it's all about African Unity, after all. Though in retrospect, I am concerned that his conversion could be precedent for further appropriation and justification of assimilation into pop culture...but so far there doesn't seem to be any reason to think that so I won't hold it against him. :)

not so long ago ive watched a documentary about people who claim that tupac was killed to make place for greedy, money loving idiots like snoop dogg. proles who dont care about spreading certain messages who love to spend their money for hookers and drugs. but i dont think so. i watched snoop helping organisation against gang crime and there are some smartphone videos of him on youtube which show that he gives hundreds of dollers away for homeless people. even though he produced porn as a father of kids who were around 12 years old. he seems not to be THAT influenced and abused by main stream. all the things he does i dont agree with are things he did just because he wanted to do them. once, snoop dogg was in my hometown for a concert and ive heard from some of my friends that they were in a fast food restaurant and saw a limo stopping in front of the burger shop. then a couple of afro-americans went into the shop, pushed people aside and demanded dozens of burgers. they shouted "hurry up, man, snoop dogg wants to eat". after a few minutes one of those americans gave the guy behind the counter a couple of hundred dollars and they disappeared into the night. i think this could be true. but he also works with many producers and artists who are nothing more than puppets on a string. if you dont believe in mk ultra and certain theories its still obvious that he has produced a lot of...lets say... "nonsense". so i dont really know what to think about him. i say nothing against him yet but im careful. like many rastas said before...i think snoop lion CAN be a good rastafarian.

so respect SNOOP LION. but. there are also certain operations to confuse people. for example the 9 11 thing. i think 40 % (or was it even 60% nowadays?) of the u.s. citizens believe it was an inside job. so the gouvernment used a celebrity to hype theories about 9 11. only to bury the celeb afterwards. so everybody who tries to talk about 9 11 theories will be compared to this celebrity. and nobody really wants to compared to him. its just a strategy. they make people think that only guys like this deal with things like an "inside job". the gouvernment needed a real addicted, criminal, strange guy and was lucky to find charlie sheen who recently has attacked his porn star girlfriend and stpmom of his kids with a pistol and who smokes crack all the time. hopefully snoop lion will not be remembered as a skittles kind of rasta.

snoop has mentioned dolemite in "nuttn but a g thang" and he had portrayed the stereotype of a ghetto pimp more than once. one thing i remember is that i was a huge fan of blaxploitation movies earlier in my life. i think its no shame to admit it as a white guy. the most succesful blaxploitation flicks were produced by tarantino because he made it main stream. so as weve mentioned snoop, i cant refuse to remember some things of my childhood days. i know many rastas dont watch those kind of movies. i myself dont watch tv, hollywood productions etc. neither. didnt watch those movie for a really long time. but i wonder how much of a POSITIVE political gamechanger those movies actually were. maybe (just maybe) it can be compared to gangsta rap in certain cases. what do you think about blaxploitation? did it help to spread culture and a certain message and was it even an act of black liberation or do you think it was fatal that after times of slavery a certain image of black people (as gangsters) were spread? i remember a tune calld "those kind of black men" by macka b. he used the song to make people understand that not every black man is a gangster. so i think there were some misunderstandings and strange hypes around it. but when it comes to entertainment those ones are absolute classics. blaxploitation has influenced many main stream rappers and directors of today.

Snoop dogg is one of the best in the game.One of the real ones still there from back in the days.Its also a blessing that he look to Jamaica and Rasta and make an album as Snoop Lion. Rap is freedom.

Snoop can say anything he wants. True I Man support Freedom of speech. To I he is like a hurt full joke. I don't think he is being genuine because of how he historically flip flops on all types of styles Itinually and openly admits HE IS controlled by greed and money. Sure he a Black Man but that DOES NOT make him Rasta. Colin Powel a Rasta too? Both support violence and Babylon agenda. Snoop Lion is a big offensive joke to I. Singing non genuine reggae songs to victimize the genuine artists takin their possible record sales because he's already well known and accessable to mainstream tv, America and world pop charts. This snoop Lion fad has fazed out now hes doin a vintage disco thing next, already abandoned I and I RastaFarI as soon as da mp3 downloads and record company royalties drop. If a new I is interested inna trod is snoop who shall guide the cubs them? (I hear Bunny and Peter chat bout disa issue w Bob inna somehow less obviously ridiculous parallel iyah.) Skittles Great way to get the world to see Rasta as a serious, respected, unified movement.-NOT. clown shoes are taken more seriously. One trip to Jam Rock and my little gangsta neighbors would think them a rasta. I Real eyes Many of the I like snoop lion so its ok to disagree.
