Djibouti = ancient punt or Ta Netjer or Nubia
I would say this is more likely than the country being named after a doormat

Also dJahuti was famously represented by the baboon native to the north east part of Ancient Africa. This type of baboon apparently known as a 'Hymadryas baboon' and look where it is now only found:
