That's what i said: too simplistic. Regardless of whatever the Bible says (& it's always complex &/or contradictory), in practice most Christian women are not treated as the underdogs while men sit at the top of the heap and mistreat them. That's a cartoon caricature that does happen in some bad individual circumstances by it is not dominant. i don't see that as dominant in Islam either (at least not in the Muslim families i have spent time with in places as disparate as Morocco, Bangladesh, Jordan, Syria, the Philippines and Malaysia).
Decision-making authority and responsibilities may well (and probably are) divided between a husband & a wife as anyone who's ever tried to operate a ship with two captains understands that failure to do so is probably unworkable (e.g., Capt. 1: "hard a-starboard",Capt. 2: "hard a-port" --which way do we go?).
