ROOTS of rasta African tribe

ive read it somewhere before...but can't remember.
there are Rastas/men with dreads in a tribe in africa. does anyone know who they are. they have been around loong before modern day Ras-is this where inspiration is drawn from? I also know these men paint themselves white on occasion and live deep in the jungle.

Someone please let me know

1-dreads don't make you RASTA and they are locs, not dreads
2-if they are before the Ras's, they are not Rasta in that the Ras's are of the lineage that have a distinct identity that is tribal

I think whoever this tribe is was referred to as Rastas because of their locs. The Ras's where Ras's with or without locs

originally it is written that god taught us to leave our hair to grow natural.
these people may not know about Ras Tafari or Hailee Selassie i
but if they are true to god since the beginning then maybe that is why they stay where they are as a tribe...
they may still have a right to inherit earth in the end days
if they are unaware that HIM Ras Tafari or jesus or the bible etc exists..
only time will tell
