these same question rise up because of the same misconvinctions that won't give up yet: I've already wrote something about this (as you could imagine): what we need:
FOUND ON THE WEB:"The emergence of the Rastafarian Community, 1916-1930 in Jamaica, came during the rule of British Colonialism. Lacking an Ethiopian educator, the early Rastafarian Community developed their faith out of misinterpretations and slight ignorance. These statements did not reflect the true 'tenets' necessary to establish Temple Worship. During the early forties, several individuals would then emerge with their own tenets as religious directives or guidelines. These individual tenets were not in accordance with Ethiopic tradition dealing with the fundamentals, such as Baptism. The lack of religious discipline and over zealous fanatics did not allow any form of re-examination of our Ethiopian tradition. Irrespective that the Iyabinghi's doctrine could be interpreted as religious anarchism, which could only undermine the future development of their community and its religious status.
Disregarding Ethiopic religious tenets, causes the profaning of the name Emperor Haile Selassie the First and opens the door for infiltration by undesirable elements posing as Rastafarians. "
Hope I will be clear (not english):Haile Selassie I is Christ--He taught Christianity(New:RastafarI) as well as Jesus taught Judaism(New:Christianity)
BUT
Christianity is more than Judaism--->it is Its Holy Fulfillment(that's why i wrote "New" because althought it is New, it comprehend the Ancient -Christ taught the "new yet ancient Commandment" See John's Epistle 1 and Jesus Wrods)
AND
RastafarI is more than Christianity-->It is Its Holy and Last Fulfillment(what was not fulfilled in the Fulfillment of Judaism -Christianity- now is complete)
No one will deny Haile Selassie taught Christianity: otherwise, quoting His Words, these people won't be able to tarnish the Truth, and remove It from Its Holy Seat.
So what? What should mean those chapters of the Ethiopian revised Constitution given to Ethiopia by the Emperor, concerning the Emperor's forever duty of keeping the Orthodox Faith and to Develope Christian education in the Country (see also His Words at the Coronation)?
What does Orthodox Christianity, Ethiopian one, teaches? She teaches the Holy Scriptures and Tradition, and Haile Selassie has worked for us to be able to have Scriptures in a more modern languages: how could you deny His Work? He, as well as Jesus, teaches His Mystical Presence in the Holy Scriptures, and that is why He wants us to know the Scriptuires, and to know them properly (in fact He sent Abuna Yesheaq, in order to teach Orthodox Tradition to those Rastafarian that were confused and had not an orthodox theological basis. It was to strenghten their Rastafarian faith-not to deny it, as the Abuna did after the "fall" of HIM's Government).
Where should come the Lion from? Where Judah? Where the Prophecies of the" King of kings and Lord of lords", but from the Word of God, of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, that , by His Grace, we can read and feel?
