Deuteronomy 18
18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you (Moses) from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.
19 And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.
I believe that Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) was the Prophet like Moses. However, I see great similarities between Moses and Haile Selassie I. So I believe it was fulfilled also through Haile Selassie I.
Haile Selassie I was a Hebrew descendant from King Solomon in Israel. He was raised in an African Royal House. Moses married Ethiopian Zipporah who was one of seven daughters. It corresponds to one faithful Bride among the seven churches in Revelation.
Moses requested Pharoah to "Let his people go", which led to battling their magicians. It reminds me of Haile Selassie I's appearing before the League of Nations before World War II. At that time, discriminating laws against Jews had been enforced in Germany.
The State of Israel was formed in the aftermath of World War II. There was an Exodus of the Jews to the Promised land.
Isaiah 11
10 “And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a banner to the people;
For the Gentiles shall seek Him,
And His resting place shall be glorious.”
11 It shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time
To recover the remnant of His people who are left,
From Assyria and Egypt,
From Pathros and Cush,
From Elam and Shinar,
From Hamath and the islands of the sea. (Check the places, fulfilled since 1948)
12 He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the earth.
Many here don't care about the Torah but I encourae you to read it or watch a film about Moses and meditate on Haile Selassie I. I prefer the animated 'The Prince of Egypt (1998) since it's not that long.
The film ends with the Israelites crossing the sea and entering the desert. I believe that pictures our time well since the Messianic Kingdom hasn't fully blossomed.
Ezekiel 20
33 “As I live,” says the Lord God, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you.
34 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out.
35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face.
36 Just as I pleaded My case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead My case with you,” says the Lord God.
37 “I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;
38 I will purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
There's certain things that must come to pass. Haile Selassie I is alive and well. But like Moses, no one knows where His grave is.
Deuteronomy 34
5 So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.
6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day.
7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.
In Revelation we see another appearing of Haile Selassie I at the end. That is when he openly reveals himself as Yeshua Messiah (Joshua - Moses successor who led the Israelites to the Promised Land).
I'm not sure if this is what brother Bob Marley had in mind when he wrote the following song, since he was a TTI member. But I interpret "the Prophet" to be Haile Selassie I.
Blessings in Haile Selassie I, JAH Rastafari.
