Some Rasta Burn 'going out' / nightclub thing completely. Like those brothers and sisters on the hill for example.

Other Rasta clearly don't...... as the music / sound-system scene is so prevalent in Rastafari. How many Rastafari singers players of instruments and 'sound-man' are they.....

How do the Idem on this forum see it? By dancehall I mean in the generic way.....

Garveys Africa

For I, it depends on the vibe...... Nobody could argue to I for example that a Jah Shaka event has any form of wickedness associated with it....whereas if we are talking about PassaPassa or a regular bashy bashy night then the lines get blurred!!

Nothing displeases I visual like the sight of a dreadlocks inebriated and surrounded by slackness. On the other hand, the sight of Rasta in Inity and respectful socialising to Jahmusic is the complete opposite.

Seen Iyah. In Iwombman immaturity there were times when I would go to dancehall or club, with plenty of disRASpectful people and activities involved. But in this overstanding and at this time, Iwombman sIght that as unnecessary and dangerous for I Irit.
There is a local bar where Iwombman will go to hear and Ipprecilove live local reggae bands, many of them "Rasta", some of the Idren Iwombman personally know to be upful Rastafari.
The vibe, as the I GA mentioned, makes a huge difference. The crowd at this place is dressed modestly, the people drink but don't get rowdy, the vibe can get extremely upful, hola and inified at times so much that Iwombman forget that this is a public bar and not necessarily a Rastafari gathering. However, there are a couple of wombman who sing regularly with the bands, and EVERY single time the wombman have so much skin showing, heels on, make up, everything, even though the wombman in the audience do not dress this way. I find that strange and a bit off. Still, love the local bands and the music, Iwombman sUPport that particular bar and the Ifforts to keep the music playing.
So Iwombman Ipinion is that a dance hall or bar or concert or whatever it may be called, is acceptable for Ras as long as the I is acting in full dignity and RASpect for JAH, and the I feels Iritually uplifted by being at that event.

I personally don't go to night clubs becoz of the slackness and folly.

But if the I wants to listen to some loud reggae or dancehall and the I knows a place with good company without Babylon atmosphere and ways, then I don't see a reason not to enjoy that.

Iman think those who do not want to go clubbing, are at an extent havent conquered Babylon fully, why not go,because your weakness will be revealed.

A strong Man or Wombman is not one who hide away from slackness, but who can stand in slackness and never be a part of it.

Zionmountain,

I agree that if ones become slack when among slackness because not having enough consciousness (not ideology or religion) to dislike it,means ones haven't fully conquered babylon within themselves.

But if ones don't go to these places it doesn't mean they are necessarily hiding or resisting unless they have the desire and urge to go to such a place. It is one's consciousness and wisdom that let's one see that going to such a place will not give any pleasure or satisfaction and there is no desire to be there either. This doesn't mean that these become slack among slackness,no I.They can stay who they are among any slackness as Iyah VoodooRuutz say.

I agree.

Another argument as rastafari is that Jah make the daytime from 0530 a morning to maybe 8-9pm. Sunrise to sundown are the times man and wombman should trod the earth. This is a strong EABIC teaching for many Ras on the hill. Dem burn out vampire nightwalker dreadi

Don't think it a weakness tho bredda more a vibes. Be CAREFUL of the company you keep around you for it does have an effect.

But rereading my first post n sight Garveys Africa love a good session with good vibes among good people still....... arguably is the modern church
