Yes yes, its been a nice and blessed day, chanting Marcus Garvey i Black Prophet.
The weather has been dim around here, havent seen the sun in a couple of days, but ..
i irit is bright bright. Giving thanks for the life and time of i Honorable Prophet who set the foundation for the revelation of Rastafari . Give thanks for the awakening.

Yes i, i had to come back and check my song one more time
lol, dont mean to blow my own horn, but i must say, i am really happy about i work.
I cant wait till i can go into a proper studio and record this song properly.

The riddim was built from a sample of an old Amharic love song by Aster Aweke, perhaps the best female singer in Ethiopian music.

But what i love most about this song is this...

I work with a few young artists from i area. I build riddims and beats for them to use. In addition to that, a lot of times i am helping them with writing songs and lyrics. There have been even times where i have written whole songs for people.
Upto now, however, i have never had anyone write anything for i.

Now, to be able to say, Marcus Garvey wrote this song is a very humbling isperience.
An isperience so humbling, and yet at the same time, makes i so proud.

This reminds i of two similar instances in music.

One is the most commonly known, that is, Bob Marley using His Majesty�s speech for his "War" song.

Another instance is a much lesser known one.
Not many people know this, indeed, i have noticed that not as many people as there should be are aware of the music of Augustus Pablo.

If you get an original copy of an Augustus Pablo album, then you will notice and read on the back, the album credits, most of his albums will read

while Pablo himself will only take credit as Co-producer.
In recognition that all music ultimately comes from the divine inspiration of the Most High King Selassie I Jah Rastafari.
