As one can see in this close up, the Israelites had locks.

This is an image of Israelites playing music while in babylonian captivity.

Hebrew man. Notice his hair is clearly in locks. This image was found in the tomb of Ramesses III. (Also notice the fringes on the garments: Num.15:37-41 and Deut.22:12)

Yes, definitely dreadlocks. How about this 18th century Ethiopian image of Jesus. I see him possibly wearing a tam with his dreadlocks wrapped inside.

Give thanks for that link Ras I Tom, the site was interesting...

Iric, the yellow circle around the picture of the Christ's head is the luminary (in this case solar)disc that is in the background of Christ iconography in many cultures. If the I is just referring to the black hair depicted on His head, I can't say with certainty that it's not a tam, however I am very doubtful, and I think it's most likely just meant to be His natural hair as many Ethiopian men are depicted as wearing their hair as such. And it is true, certainly One can go to Ethiopia, or just look at pictures of His Majesty, and find that it is a most common hairstyle.

I 2 cents...
