Actually I changed my mind, fire burns to strong within I, I’ve got to say I peace. I found your statement quite sexist I, I got the impression that you have a problem with an empress wearing the symbol in tight clothing because it suggests she is showing off her body in a sexual way and for this is not right. Ha, how many times must a woman be viewed in a sexual way and always judged for it – why can’t she wear what she feels – because a man says its too sexy. Who views a woman’s cleavage as sexual, who views a woman’s behind as sexual? Where did that thinking come from? And to serve whose benefits I? Historically a male-dominant culture has constructed images of women’s bodies for male pleasure or for male power so they dominate women and tell them their bodies must be covered up or exposed whenever it suits male interests – check the Bible I in Corinthians, Proverbs we read of virtuous women who must cover their bodies and do all sorts, read in history I there is the image of Black women’s bodies striped naked and raped, women’s bodies covered up and denied their beauty to suit an oppressive patriarchal institution that is fraught with the complexities of class, ethnicity, sexuality and race. In contemporary times, it has become fashionable for women to wear tight clothing – one chooses what is comfortable for their bodies and their personality, but I ask why the analogy of a woman’s chest and her behind? What is the implication here? Some sexual connotation is attached that you are clearly critical of, that a certain kind of dress code is not permissible because its tight on the body therefore unholy? Says who, surely a female breast, a buttock is as natural and holy a body part as a male breast or buttock? Is it unholy and unnatural is a man wore a muscle top with Jah across the front of it? Or if he had on pants printed Souljah on the back of them? Is that also problematic for you? That’s hilarious, to think you can say what’s ok for a woman to wear simply because her chest is gazed through sexist eyes. And this is the sole meaning of woman, this is all a woman in a tight tee can be, just a sexual object? That’s sad I, just sad to think Rasta philosophy teaches us to see without prejudice and to chant down Babylon, including oppressive sexist thoughts. Have you ever thought to ask wearer of the t-shirt written empress might mean when they wear it? What symbolic value it might have? And even if it were a fashionable thing to the sister, Aya so what? Who is one to judge another? You can’t claim the sanctity of the colours in clothing coz its too far gone, its a fashion item but its power is that it has more than one meaning and for I its too deep too personal, too spiritual for I to even care whether its worn as a tight fit or loose fit and whether the wearer is male or female. What’s more important is JAH meditation first before and above all else.

ises idren

i feel like the two of you are speaking about two different things
The brethren seems to be ttalking of the commercialisation of InI culture...and i overs that....thats why you ll never see i wearing one of those Bob Marley shoes

Sistren Ten, it is surprising to hear the I speak so. Call I sexiest if you like but i know what i want for I princess, sisters and daughters.
Mama Omega Principle run the earth.
As the i said, , surely a female breast, a buttock is as natural and holy a body part as a male breast or buttock?
true, then you would do well to tell the sistren them to treat themselves holy as they are
you keep talking of men, but women are not exempt from blame concerning the sexualisation of society
you know as well as i do women wouldnt even wear half the things they wear if they didnt know that men would find it sexy

As for Rasta, it is not only oppressive sexual thoughts that we chant down, but ini also chant down all the actions that contribute to the rise of oppressive sexual thoughts, no true?

before i rise your temper again lol, i just want to say, i burn the same fire on men who wear clothes to accentuate their body parts, be it their chest ot whatever, i burn the same fire on men who shave and trim and look so clean on the outside while their deeds are so dutty

Rastafari Bless

"Proverbs we read of virtuous women who must cover their bodies and do all sorts,"
but the way i sight it, a virtuous woman doesnt need to be told what she must do, a virtuous woman will automatically know
just like a man who reaches a certain iritical level, doesnt need to be told to grow his beard or anything like that,he will feel and know, naturally
or am i wrong

Blessed

Greetings I
Yes I accept that a virtuous woman does not need to be told what to do, of course in a perfect world it might be so, but I how many times have we heard of religious laws that equate the covering with holiness? Even if a virtuous woman might not follow these laws, but those of her inner spirit – but it is still conditioned and affected by the workings of this world and you regard yourself in a certain way because of that which has become engrained in you. So many faiths have twisted these to suit their interpretation to make laws of certain body parts or natural bodily processes are deemed unholy. Rastafari is no exception to this as you know. I know fire will come upon I but in reality its not true for every woman that her dress reflects her commitment to the Most High, its not true that she exemplifies humility by wearing locks neither does one reflect purity in having a beard. If these things come natural to one’s way of being then so be it and if they don’t its irie still for there are many way to express I sanctity and spirituality. Now when I speak of sexism and oppressive patriarchy I acknowledge that women too can be a part of that system and be oppressive figures too as much as there are men who will stand in opposition to the downpressing of women. The words patriarchy and sexism stem from a pre-dominantly male culture that has discriminated against people on the basis of culture – I’ve not done much research on how matriarchal systems work so I won’t speak of those but what I know of my world and my culture is such that gender biases exist. And when I use the terms male, patriarchy, men it’s in reference to that dominant culture which is led mostly (not always) by my men but not to the exclusion of women matriarchs who may be just as oppressive – thanks for pointing that out I’ll state that its an all-inclusive term which institutes specific forms of discrimination by men and women. And I if you burn fire on those who shave and trim to look clean on the outside, I hope you teach your fire to burn not the outside appearance of a person but to see that which is internal, the heart and actions of people for a dreaded sister or bearded brother can commit very bad acts. And we've got to remember hair and beards are a material symbol, they are not the actual spirit of one. And callous as it might sound, but truly hair is dead matter it’s the roots that grow and in a metaphorical sense its these roots that make us. These foundations of self are the heart and that’s what forms the spirit and how it will grow. Selah

Seen

i suppose ini have to disagree on somethings
u believe that "in reality its not true for every woman that her dress reflects her commitment to the Most High"
while i have the opinion that every man woman and child who are called by the Father WILL, not must but WILL reflect their commitment to the Most High, in everything, in their acts and deeds, in their words, in their dress, in their cleanliness, in their relationships with their fellow human beings
you know, my sister used to always argue with me about me keeping my locks....always used to say, why must you grow it, what has what you feel inside have to do about how you look
one day we were watching tv and a commercial came on, some clothing company, anyway, the voice over the commercial said something like "change what you wear and change how you feel"
and i just turned to i sis and asked her do u believe that?
she answered, yes i believe the saying, the clothes make the man
so i asked again, so if clothes,a manufactured stuff can have such an influence on one, how much more do you think something like my beard and locks which is actually a part of i can have an influence on i
and i could just see something shift in her mind
i never had that argument since

i love I locks, what can i say about locks
should i speak of the nazarene vow
should i speak of i African identity
should i speak of the mystics the world over
should i speak of its energy attracting properties
should i speak of i God given crown of royalty

i wont even speak of beards
when i see men wake up every morning and shave their face in front them mirror, its tells i just how vain and far from Jah this world has gone
anyone seen this movie Evan Almighty...about this guy who is like a modern day Noah
see the scene where God makes his hair grow so fast that he cant even shave it and the man goes "but beards are so dirty" ?
what can u say about this world?

lol what was my point

Ises I

Im sure many have already noticed how almost all the prophets and priests of ancient times, would go far from the company of woman during times of great iditation, whether it be Moses in the mountains, Iyasus in the wilderness, or even some of the rock churches in Ithiopia where no woman is allowed.
It makes I sad to see how some have taken this to mean that there is something evil or sinful about woman or that woman is somehow destructive to the higher iditation of man.
But this is a lie because the weakness is not the womans but the man.
Woman IS the weakness of man and i doubt if this will ever change, neither should it i think, its just the natural order. I dont care how righteous a man is, if he sees a beautiful woman, well.....he might be able to resist a glance or two, but if he spends enough time with her she will raise feelings within him. Bob Marley overstood this and claimed, that woman was his only weakness. And the ancient prophets overstood this, the churches in Ithiopia overstood this, that a man who is iditating towards Jah should remove all forms of distractions....and nothing more distracting than a beautiful woman lol

So man plays his part as having the weakness and woman plays her part as being the source of his weakness
Now this weakness gives rise to many destructive forces upon society, adulery, shame, breakup of families etc...

So as Ini was speaking of certain dress codes, tight t shirts and jeans, women with half their belly showing , which are clearly designed to raise sexual feelings, all i was trying to say was...
if a every righteous man is trying his hardest to keep from crumbling to his weakness and commit sin like adultry, trying his best to resist temptation, trying to keep to one woman as I Father taught......then shouldnt every righteous woman,in realising the power she holds over man, try her best to help keep man´s mind clear and clean, to help him resist temptation, to be a part of his strength instead of the source of his weakness ?

I know I reasoning might not be perfect but i hope it makes sense to some I dem
InI just want to see less baby mothers and baby fathers and more parents

Oh and, If anyone thinks i am looking down on them, it is only because they are looking up at I, seen, who feel it know it
