Aya I know your views are more progressive than some of the Ites I have reasoned with and bess for that. But at the same time I can't really agree with the thought that a woman ought not to be the temptress - in part I agree but sometimes I feel its got nothing to do with those that are tempted but everything to do with the woman who dresses as an expression of self and to please herself. When you've been told you can't wear this, you can't do that because you'll send out the wrong vibe - there are those who will rebel because they are sick and tired of adhering to society's laws. There are no easy answers, but I for one feel if I start defining my femininity according to my personal relationship with the Most High, I've no need for social rulings to tell I, woman nah gwan a binghi at a particular time or sisters can't wear this n that - for to I these are the laws of people. They serve their purpose where they do but at times they imprison. For as much as both men and women have a part to play in not tempting each other - men and women have a responsibility to free themselves too of those oppressive practices that limit one based on gender: male or female.

I saw the video by Skull Boom Di Boom Di Boom Di where there a barechested dreadlocked man with a lion of judah tattoo running around and he has these women clad in bikini tops and jeans with red gold n green belts. In the background is the Lion of Judah flag waving in the background - its an animated video and I just thought of all the things we've been discussing. I didn't like it one bit because of the way the dread image is commercialised and there's a glorification of the sexualised image of both men and women.I felt it was in bad taste.
