I can say one thing, it makes sense to delete spammers and periodically clean them, because no matter how the system is configured, there will always be a smart guy who will bypass it. Regarding captcha, I agree that at the moment reCAPTCHA filters about 80% of bots, but bypass mechanisms do not ...
