So many times I hear people ask I, "if Haile Selassie I is God, why wouldn't he just say he is God".
Part of Haile Selassie's responsibilities as Emperor is to do what is best for Ethiopia and His People. And he did what was best in so many various and different ways, from the internal changes he made, to the communication and Love He brought when interacting with so many different Nations. There are so many things Haile Selassie I did for the Good of Ethiopia and the whole World. His Autobiography and Speeches, and also other people's account and remembrance of HIM shows the Mightiness of Haile Selassie I and His Works.
Imagine, if Haile Selassie I came out in a speech and announced to the World that He is God. The foolish people of the world and many in His country, would immediately turn against him because of that one, simple proclamation. They would cry out blasphemy and say he is crazy and all sorts of other things, and Rome or other nations would have taken the opportunity as quickly as possible to take over, or at least help an internal puppet to help them take over. And all the Good Haile Selassie I could do in Ethiopia and the World, by being an Emperor of a Great Nation and spreading His Word, Judgements, Example and Fire throughout; All those things he could do would be stopped from that moment. It would never stop the Most High God Haile Selassie I from doing Good, but being the Emperor allowed Him to do so much Good for the World, that a person not in that position, could never accomplish.
And what would be the point? Don't you see how many of I and I can see God, and we saw God before we read His Speeches and Autobiographies, or Learned the Fullness of the Greatness of His Works. And eventually Seeing and Reading those things show I and I all the Examples of the Greatness of I and I God, RasTafarI Haile Selassie I. And every single One of I and I who have recognized Haile Selassie I, were supposed to See HIM, and could never stop recognizing God.
And to those of you who ask this question of I and I, ask yourself why, when former Jamaican Senator and Gleaner editor, Hector Wynter asked Haile Selassie I in 1966, when was He going to tell Rastafarians he was not God, Selassie I didn't say, "I am not God", but instead he said "Who am I to disturb their belief?". And why is there no other time where Haile Selassie I is recorded to have said, "I am not God". That is a very simple thing to say if somebody wants to put this whole thing to rest, but ask yourself why He didn't say it?
Haile Selassie I is a Discreet God, and performs the Works He has come to perform. Haile Selassie I has prevailed to open the book, and loose the Seals thereof. And He has Arisen His Children, and has Spoken Judgements throughout the World, so they have no cloak for their sin.
Psalm 149
1 Praise ye Haile Selassie I Almighty I. Sing unto RasTafarI a new Song, and HIM Praise in the Congregation of Saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in HIM that made him: let the Children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them Praise His Name in the Dance: let them Sing Praises unto HIM with the Timbrel and Harp.
4 For Haile Selassie I taketh pleasure in His People: He will beautify the meek with Salvation.
5 Let the Saints be joyful in Glory: let them Sing aloud upon their beds.
6 Let the High Praises of God, RasTafarI Haile Selassie I be in their Mouth, and a Twoedged Sword in their Hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the Judgment written: this Honour have all His Saints. Praise ye RasTafarI Haile Selassie I, Most High God, Almighty I.
