Wow, so this is so spiritually inspiring.
“MOVEMENT OF JAH PEOPLE”
I&i lived in Central America for a year in 2001 and again from 2010 to 2013. Part of the time I taught the campesinos language and skills, and helped with medical treatment and improved shelter construction.
‘Los refugiados son mi gente.’
Let me tell you, our southern brethren and sistren who have the chutzpah to come to terms with the reality of zero economic opportunities, strap on a day pack with a few items in it, leave their precious families behind, and walk a thousand miles to the U.S. border in hopes of finding a chance of SURVIVAL for them and their families are the kind of incredibly bold and courageous maverick immigrant spirits who built America.
For over a hundred years the U.S. government has overtly and covertly squashed every single effort that the peoples of these Latin American nations have made to establish their own democracies and build up their own nations’ economic orders (with basic reforms to grossly skewed land & wealth distributions). Our government has methodically installed dictators, staged coups, thrown elections, and used terrorism and “civil war” all so that U.S.-puppet plutocracies that kowtow to U.S. hegemony and corporate interests are maintained, and the vast majority of people remain in abysmal poverty. We’ve raped and pillaged those lands since the time of the Monroe Doctrine and before. Well, what goes around comes around.
“Don’t forget your history, remember your destiny!”
We Americans have become complacent and allowed ourselves to be completely taken over by a political system of organized crime and wanton militarism. We could all garner some inspiration from these brethren and sistren who are willing to risk everything to rise up against oppression and say:
“We've been trodding on the winepress much too long, rebel, rebel!”
May JAH guide and protect these courageous JAH Children in their journey of migration, lead them to triumph (for they have suffered for far too long at the hands of the Wicked Ones), and place stumbling blocks in the path of those who would impede them or do them harm.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
JAH’S BLESSING UPON THE LEAST AMONG US. RastafarI!
