I think he just has curly hair. This is one of the few pictures of Tewodros II findable on the internet.

I do not think he had cornrows but his hair rather look like that than natural locks. I dont know who painted the picture actually.

I and I should look at the roots of I and I locks. Look at it and then look at the hair of Tewodros'. Just compare it with each other. His hair does not have these roots that all people with dreadlocks have.

Iman think he had cornrows braided at the top with loose curly ends of hair strands.
