His foundation is in the holy mountains. Jah loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of thee, o city of God. “I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.” And of Zion it shall be said, “This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.” Jah shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. As well the singers and the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.
- Psalm 87

(Dedicated to Robert Nesta Marley who made the original King’s Music.)

I speak words of holiness
I write words of life
I live life through dedication to self
All who hear me are blessed
May my voice wash over you
And may your Inner Light shine brighter
Because of it
Play I some music
Roots rock reggae
Hip-hop bee-bop funk
Go-go techno jungle
Flip it rip it rock it
Don’t stop it
Just play I some music
And dance with me
Till my soul is overflowing with spirit
And tears fall from my eyes
Like glittering diamonds of joy
Let me stand with my bredren
And let me stand with my sistren
In an eternal embrace
An unbreakable bond
And let no evil penetrate our love
Let the wickedness of Babylon
Crumble around us as our spirit
Radiates through the infinite void of Universe
Filling it with human power
May the different shades of brown, red, yellow
Melt together and reflect the sun
May those who cannot receive the sun
Melt and fertilize the soil
Which has bore us
And suffered for its support
May Mother Earth smile and blossom
May she experience spring like only
She remembers
May peace return to Earth
And may the soundtrack be available
Only in the form of live performance
May the kings and queens of Africa
Reclaim their place as rightful leaders
May justice be once again more
Than just a legal term
May the waters which have nourished us
Once again cleanse our bodies
And our spirits
May the moon reclaim its place as
Mother of the sky
May the house of God
Become the house of man
And the house of man
Become the house of God
God the father
Earth the mother
Man the son
And woman the daughter
But at the very least
May I hear some music
Just play I some music
So that I may drift away
Into the arms of Jah
Into the strength of the Lion
Into the sound of the music
Into the love of the musician
Into I and I body
Into I and I mind
Into I and I
Play I some music
Relax into the salt water of the ocean
Drink in the sun
Cool off with the wind
Roar with the lion
And be free
