interesting.

its obvious that you have to reconnect with nature to lose your depression. you can also quote the bible regarding the thing that we should enter zion like little children would do or something like that.
the biblical jesus has also mentioned the purity of them.

but to me its just obvious. i share your opinion. how do you reach this heights again besides using your "natural sources"...?

"how do you reach this heights again besides using your "natural sources"...?"

The "natural sources" give valuable insight into spiritual enlightenment; a state achievable by any human (this is very important, ie someone does not have to be inhuman), ie spiritual zion.

It think that every plant possesses a soul or spiritual essence and that eating Ital over ones lifetime alters the brain chemistry to it's original state, and since the physical and the spiritual are intertwined, the corrected brain chemistry results in a corrected perception.

Through meditation you may enter deeper states, too.

But the short answer is Ital.

All the best,

Joe

IMPORANT; if you have porridge/oatmeal for breakfast, like me, you must always soak the oats.

For a long time now, because I wanted to have my oats with raw fruit, rather than cook it, I have always just puts oats in a bowl, covered it with water, and ate them with the fruit + nuts. A while ago on this thread, I brought up that I was having white marks on my finger nails, and that it could be due to lack of something.

Anyway, I have recently had bloating aswell, and I have started soaking the oats overnight, and have done for a couple of weeks. Within 2 days, the bloating vanished and it appears (and feels like) I am getting the necessary nutrients from it. It could be what was causing the white marks, because I recently read about, that if you don't soak them, the phytates are there which bind to calcium in the digestive system and prevent it from being absorbed.

Since soaking, I have noticed incredible differences! A simple suggestion, but one that is often forgotten.

All the best,

Joe

^soak or cook. If you cook them, it is not necessary to soak.

I think that the effect that it was having is that (if left) oats will soak up perhaps 6 their weight in water. I was just eating them straight, and they do that in the stomach. So without drinking large amounts of water, they block up the stomach.

All the best,

Joe

ok.

man, i have to say nettles taste "strange". its not that obvious. at first it tastes like nothing. like spinach. but then youll receive this bitter, raw taste. maybe ive cooked them too long. but i think ill drink it as tea from now on.

Nettles shouldnt taste bitter, more like a sweetish tasting spinach. Only pick the young tops, i.e. top 4 or so leaves and as with spinach they only need minimal cooking. Pick them only from a natural setting, away from roads, preferably away from paths too (to avoid dogs), and in season.
Jah bless

^ Reasoning time, you have done it right (ie you haven't picked the wrong thing). The first time I made a nettle soup, it smells SO strong, and the taste was enough to make my mom wretch.

All the best,

Joe

well. i have to admit that i bought them at a health store. but they are labelled as natural. just nettles. cut and dried. nothing else.

ive cooked them for four or five minutes with a little bit of water. the water was brown after it. never seen that before. spinach water is always green. its a shame that ive never eaten it before.

it smells like tea. in deed. kind of sweet and like medicine. but maybe thats just because ive never cooked nettles before. i think it was jsut too much. my pan was half filled with noodles and half filled with nettles in the end.

but i think it was helpful when it comes to my hay fever. my eyes arent red anymore.

Dear All,

Recently I started soaking my oats, nuts and seeds. Before this, I just ate the nuts unsoaked, and the oats I ate them as they were, just with water on top, without letting them swell.

Since doing these things, I have noticed absolutely incredible differences in my digestion. After researching it, I found that pretty much all ancient civilizations would prepare their nuts, often by soaking. I also read that when it was more common to eat porridge, it was tradition to soak it overnight and then cook it in the morning. I was previously unaware of all of these traditions, and since taking them up a considerable difference has happened.

My question is; are there any other traditions in food preparations that I should be aware of? Ie, I was completely unaware of these traditions of soaking, and after making the change, I can definitely see why they are traditions.

So, are there any specific food preparation techniques that are used in Rasta camps that I should know about?

All the best,

Joe
