Sea salt is beneficial for the temple - it leaves an alkaline residue in the blood. Iodized table salt is a different story, totally harmful.

Adding salt to food is still not considered Ital. Health benefits or fair trade don't necessarily equate to Ital.

^^Exactly. ADDING salt is not usually considered Ital. But salt itself is.

Salt comes naturally from the ground in Africa. The women of Kibiro spend all day and all night gathering the salt Jah provides from the ground; as a way of living.



The problem is not of salt. We need salt and is naturally present, therefore Ital. The problem - as always - is Ma'at / Balance. Too little salt will kill you as will too much. Salt is present in almost EVERYTHING you consume whether Ital or not. Your Pituitary - Kidney homo-regulation will keep your levels under control. But if you keep abusing your bodies system of regulation you are effectively committing suicide. The same mechanism the body saves salt / or rids excessive salt is the same mechanism the body controls Blood Pressure, Potassium levels, Fluid and pressure within the Brain..... so if one has an incorrect Balance and the body is constantly focused fighting salt levels the health effects are quite obvious (Blood prressure, seizures, stroke and cardiovascular disease).

The key to remember is in most HEALTHY diets - even Ital - the recommended salt intake levels are reached, easily, and then some. So to think of how much salt a regular - Babylonian - diet would contain theres no wonder why Western society has such a health problem. Now to ADD salt to this diet, in babylon, is suicide and genocide until proven otherwise.

I man agree wit Sister. salt aint ital whether from de sea, ground or factory. I n I don't need to nyam salt for de plants we eat contain enough sodium to meet what is needed by de body. So when u eat salt then u are takin excess sodium which is harmful to de body. De sodium in plants is in balanced proportion with other essential body minerals such as potassium n phosphorus so when u get it from plants u wont have imbalanced proportion. However takin salt can cause de imbalance dat cause illness.

^^But black heart, you show me a food or diet which contains NO sodium whatsoever... The fact you have it naturally on the earth and within your body and your body cannot do without it means its (v)Ital.

Additives - which i think is what you and sister mean - is a whole other argument. Which clearly is bad for your health and not ital, as*most* diets already contain more than enough.

Too much salt can kill you. Too little salt can kill you just as easy.


Its about Ma'at.


Why make this distinction? Who cares? Because ones have to be aware when we say BUN flesh foods and ones really stick to that 'religiously' intaking NO further animal food or product. Ones can still be healthy. Often the healthiest. But the same principle cannot be said with salt..we need it still, no matter how little.

Just as Bananas are a health source of Potassium - which we need. But eat a bunch of 20 bananas and you will soon drop dead as your heart comes to a stop.

Blackheart,salute the I for burning this fyah pon this thread,it shows many dont really overstand what Ital is,and your standing firm has strengthened the I,especially on cooking oils.Iman use vegetable oils in stores but from long time I know it aint Ital,only if I could know how to extract oils from plant seeds naturally,I could have abstained from the oils in stores.
Maybe if the I could teach I and I how to do this extraction process.
