Seen, seen Idren...
I man don't see 'submission unto JAH (Allah) as a bad thing though... sure it carries bad connitations depending on how one looks at it, but what it is supposed to mean, especially in the case of Islam, is living life for JAH, by the Word of JAH holding only JAH as your guide. This is what Islam means by 'submission unto Allah'. You are not supposed to submit your life unto a preacher, nor a Mosque, nor a polition/tyrant or none of that... only the Creator, the I-ternal... seen? So the way I-man see this (since I wrote that post I've been thinking about the Rasta-Islam connection more and more) is that like many (if not all) of the religions of today (e.g. Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism) is that there are misconceptions that followers dwell too much over. People tend to worship the church, not the God...
But we know Rasta don't do that, cuz Rasta is all about the InI... So we are a step ahead, and we got to show them how to take that step... that's how I-man see this...
Recently I've been posting at a site (www.rastafari.org) and its mainly people who are just learning about what Rasta is or people who have recently come to their realisation of being Rasta. I like helping people see truth, helping them see JAH Light. This is what we as the ones who KNOW got to do for the people who have to use the crutch. Show them how to gain knowledge from the crutch, keep gaining wisdom and inspiration from it, and gain it through themself in their own union with JAH. That's the real difference between Rasta and everyone else. It's all the same philosophy at its core, but we go about it in a much more advanced way.
Thanks for all your responses, there are some very wise people here! I should have started to post here a long time ago!
One love, JAH bless I-ternal!
Ras John
